- Sitges Tango Festival 2014 –

If you’re a veteran to Sitges International Tango Festival you know that the best accommodation is to rent a holiday apartment! This is because the event is held during the high season here in Sitges where hotel prices can get quite expensive when you factor in that you cannot cook in your room, and that’s where Sitges Holiday Accommodation comes in!

We’ve got over 50 apartments in Sitges ranging from simple studios up to luxury sea front apartments. This years Tango Festival will be held July 21-27 (venues TBA). To get all of the event info check out their offical website or Facebook page.

As the weeks pass we will be updating this post to keep everyone informed.

Get practicing because the months fly until dancing along the mediterranean here in Sitges Barcelona.

This weekend is Sitges Half/Quarter Marathon

This Sunday Sitges is holding its annual half & quarter marathon, but for those who want to enter in the race, sorry, today was the last day for sign-up!

The quarter marathon will start at 0900h, and will start from the Paseo de la Ribera (Santa Maria area), and will finish there as well going through many of the neighbourhoods in Sitges.

The half marathon starts at 1000h, and has a time limit of 2 1/2 hrs… so you better get your thumb out!

Either way going down to show support for your friends/family it’s just a good excuse to get out and live healthy.

In Sitges this weekend and looking for a laugh?

Although Sitges is quiet in the winter months, the sun is still shining, and there still are weekend events going on. Now if you’re in Sitges this weekend and want to comic delight, Grey’s Sitges is holding a stand-up comic night called “Andrew Stanley does 50 shades of Grey’s”. Andrew has performed in venues all across europe and is one of Irelands top comics.

The restaurant will be offering great tapas and cocktails to match, with entry being 10 euros, where else in Sitges can you get that in the dead of winter.

Check out Grey’s Sitges facebook page or just show up on the 11th from 9pm to enjoy a night filled full of laughs.

Barcelona Circuit 2014

Barcelona Circuit Festival 2013 [esp.] from idemtv on Vimeo.

Since 2008 Barcelona has been holding one of Europe’s biggest circuit parties for over 50,000 gay and lesbian party-goers.

Matinee group is a force to be reckoned with in the party scene by hosting parties from Amnesia Ibiza to their world tour in places like Moscow or Rio de Janeiro.

Circuit Barcelona 2014 will be like no other with over 60 DJ’s, 20 venues, and over 80,00 beautiful people bombarding Barcelona from the 6th-17 of August 2014. Our favourite venue is either the water park party or the WE party that can go all night long.

Some tips about the event is to treat it like the tortoise and the hare. Meaning, chose a couple of decent parties that you would like to go to with a day or two in between, or by the time the closing parties come around, you don’t even have any gas left in the tank (and weight about 10kgs less).

Regarding accommodation, Barcelona is great because it’s close to the parties, but in my opinion; it’s best to stay in Sitges, with its awesome beaches and a lot more laid back (much needed) atmosphere. There are tons of seafront apartments, and villas available but, don’t worry though Sitges can be just as much of a hedonistic party as what’s going on in Barcelona, just you get that true seaside Mediterranean feel.

Barcelona Circuit Party 2014 also has Girlie Circuit is Europe’s Biggest Lesbian event; from lounging on the beach to amazing poolside parties throughout Barcelona.

Stay tuned for more info in the next few months.

Visiting Sitges this Christmas/New Year?

Sitges Barcelona is one of the best places to visit if you’re wanting to trade in the snow for some sun. I’ve lived in Sitges since 2006 and have maybe had to have turkey dinner inside twice! There’s nothing better than doing Christmas dinner ‘Al Fresco’ (click here to see the perfect terraced apartment).

During the holiday season there’s also a local Christmas market, full of Artesenal goods like cheeses, and dried goods, to real christmas trees! There are two locations for the Christmas markets; either at the Oasis roundabout or up in Poble Sec. In Barcelona in Plaza Catalunya you can also go ice skating which is a great day out with your loved one or the kids. Click here for full details from the Barcelona Tourism website

If you’re looking for the perfect place to stay over the holidays we always recommend a sea front apartment, because renting a hotel just doesn’t have the cosy feel that an apartment does while enjoying time with loved ones. I also know the perfect place to go for either Christmas dinner or for NYE 2015 is Greys Sitges, the food is great and the prices are just as good!

Feel free to check out the blog every now and again for your Sitges holiday season updates :)
