We’re still not quite into winter yet, but the snow is coming! So, to whet the appetite of the city’s ski fans this Saturday November 27th, the Tast de Neu ski fair is organizing activities for all the family, including competitions, display stands, and a food and wine fair offering the best-tasting products from Catalan communities.
This Saturday you can get your first taste of the new snow season. A showcase for the main ski stations of Catalonia, Spain and Europe, the Tast de Neu ski fair is setting up shop opposite Illa Diagonal, between Carrer Numància and Carrer Entença. ( check googlemaps for an idea where it is )
There’s even a Mobile ski ramp!!!
What is more, the La Molina ski resort, which is hosting the 2011 World Snowboard Championships in January, will be installing a mobile ramp where visitors can try out skiing equipment and professional riders will be demonstrating their skills. Top brands like Nordica, Salomon, Atomic, Eider and K2 will be showing off their latest products there too.
This ramp will be doing the rounds of the city in the run-up to the snowboard championships, which take place between 15 and 22 January with an opening ceremony at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona.
The ski fair will also see the presentations of the two mascots for the world championships, Moli and Lina. The fair has been organised by the Associació Catalana d’Estacions d’Esquí i Activitats de Muntanya and the Agència Catalana de Turisme, in collaboration with the Barcelona City Council.
